The Grudgebearers were formed from volunteers taken from the original group of colonists the Reavers were assigned to protect. These colonists were outraged at the sensless acts of attrocity committed against them by Mark IV. They also wanted to punish Mark IV for the sensless and brytal execution of the two colonists that they discovered hiding in a work shed.

Using there hatred and determination as a tool, the volunteers excelled at there training and advanced along very quickly. Originally comprised of salvaged Mark IV units the Grudgebearers reveled in the thought of using the hated enemies machines against their masters. This all changed once the unit was officially activated. The unit CO, grateful to Alexander for giving his unit a chance to repay Mark IV for the attrocities they committed, showed his respect by reorganizing his units machines so that they only fielded CAV's and vehicles produced by Avalorian UCORs. This tradition continues to this day as a sign of respect for Alexander and his adopted home world.

Once officially active, the unit wasted no time and immediatly requested assignments to fight against both Mark IV and the Malvernis Empire. The units first engagement was a simple tech extraction for the Gorman Corporation. Gorman Corporation was a small up-and-coming robotics firm specializing in mining robots. Upon discovering that the Mark IV research facility on Hiland (16) made a signifigant break through in the miniaturization of mining lasers the Gorman Corps executives attempted to aquire a copy of the schematics for use on the mining robots. Mark IV flatly refused, stating that since the Gorman Corp was a "Terran" based corporation they would do no business with them.

Outraged, the Gorman Corp executives turned to the Reavers for help. Once on planet the Grudgebearers were to quickly assault the base and retrieve the prototype laser and the schematics. All of that changed however once the unit made contact with the hated enemy for the first time. Filled with outrage for the attrocities committed against them by Mark IV the Grudgebearers threw themselves at the defending forces with almost unnatural ferocity. Killing and destroying anything that got in there way the battle quickly deteriorated into a hunt, with the Mark IV defenders as the prey.

It took almost 2 hours for the unit commander to retake control of his warriors who had seemed to turn into wild animals intent on slaughtering anything in there path. Finally by making them realize that they were becoming exactly who they were facing did the blood lust wear off. Once under control they recovered the prototype and the schematics and headed for there waiting transports.

Since that dreadful mission, each commander of the Grudgebearers has swore never to let those attrocities ever occur again. Since that mission the Grudgebearers have been envolved in every mission that the Reavers have accepted against Mark IV or the Malvernis Empire. Due to this ongoing fued the Grudgebearers have become very adept at discerning the way the Malvernis people think when it comes to war. This makes them invaluable in actions against those two foes.

Since the death of Alexander in the Galaxy war at the hands of the Terran Legions the Grudge bearers have included the Terrans in their "Grudge War".

The units official insignia is a Gauntleted hand crushing the Mark IV logo. Since the death of Alexander in the galaxy war there have been unconfirmed sightings of Grudgebearer CAV and vehicles displaying a blackened, scorched and bullet hole riddled version of the UFF logo.
