SANGUINE REAVERS
The most trusted name in assault missions, and recon in force.

The Sanguine Reavers were formed in the year 2240 by Alexander Barnhill, an ex Terran marine Captain cashiered out of the service for classified reasons. Under the command of Alexander, the Reavers have seen action in the Pictor-UCOR war, the Galaxy war, and numerous small engagements between both wars and after the Galaxy war. The Reavers have accepted contracts, and fought for, the lowliest of the corporations to the "Big Nine" UCORS, they have also fought for several of the major governments and contracted out to other mercenary units.

Originally the Reavers specialized in heavy assault missions and were often used as a diversionary force. The Reavers also specialized in rearguard duty freeing up their employers’ forces to be used in the main assault without having to worry about an exposed supply chain or line of retreat. Due to their mission profiles they were originally equipped with the heaviest and must dangerous designs that could be deployed. After the horrendous casualties inflicted upon them during the Pictor-UCOR war, in which all of their heavy units were wiped out early in the engagement, they quickly adapted to a hit-and-fade style of warfare. Much to their surprise they found that they actually excelled at this style of warfare. The conditions that were imposed upon them while they were playing cat and mouse with enemy forces allowed them to develop the split second timing, and ability to withdraw under intense pressure from enemy forces that is needed in these types of assignments.

The Reavers are now well know and considered masters of this type of warfare. They are sought out for this ability by many UCORS and other mercenaries, specifically other mercenary units that lack the machines or experience for lightning raids and battlefield recon at the quality that the Reavers are known for.

The current TO&E of the Reavers consists of the following:

The Command Detachment (The Sanguine Knights)

1st Battle Detachment (The Grudgebearers)

2nd Battle Detachment (Blood Soaked Memories)

3rd Battle Detachment (Blood of Martyrs)

1st Reavers Assault Wing (Blood Rain)

1st Armored Assault Group (Blood Wall)

Each Battle Detachment consists of 4 CAV Sections, and two sections consisting of infantry or armor support elements. This unique arrangement gives the Sanguine Reavers a multitude of tactical options which allows them to adjust to any type of situation that may arise on todays battlefield. Each Battle Detachment is assigned some of the fastest and most rugged CAV's currently available on the market today, ensuring a balance between protection, firepower and speed. The armor used varies widely with assignment and range from the fast and deadly Chieftain to the brutal Wolverine and Naginata.

The Reavers also have three specialty units assigned to their roster, The Deathstrike Detachment, Gatekeeper Detachment, and the 1st Urban Hammers.

The Gatekeepers are an elite rearguard unit that has the important task of guarding the Reavers transport group while it is waiting for the raiding parties return. This unit was created after witnessing first hand, during the battle of Procyon (19), how having your ride home destroyed can effect the morale and fighting prowess of your forces. This unit is actually one of the most respected units of the Reavers current T.O.& E.

If the Reavers are considered the master of the lightning assault style of warfare, the Deathstrike Detachment are considered gods. The original unit was formed from the surviving members of the Pictor-UCOR war. Since that time anyone who wishes a transfer into the unit must first find a sponsor from within the unit, they must then pass a series of trials that will determine their ability to handle intense stress, weeks on end cooped up in the cockpit of a CAV, and the mental discipline to not panic when severely outnumbered. Those that pass are then given additional training in the piloting of their CAV to ensure that only the best of the best are allowed into this unit. The number of applicants that make it through the program and are awarded posts averages at 2 teams a year. In spite of this, there is never a shortage of candidates.

The Urban Hammers are a relatively new unit formed to placate the need for a detachment whose sole duty was clearing cities of hostile forces. Jeremy Barnhill, the Reavers Commander, hand picked Captain Michael Clark to assemble a team to fit this role. Captain Clark then went through the rosters and picked people who seemed more capable of battle in the confined spaces of a city environment. The hand picked individuals were then given even more specialized training in urban warfare. It is a testament to the skills of these CAV crews that three of the four crews that were sent to the Warmaster tournament this year were from the Urban Hammers.

The most recent additions to the Reavers Order of Battle would be the 1st Reavers Assault Wing, and the 1st Armored Assault Group. Both of these units contain only vehicle and infantry units. The 1st Sanguine Assault Wing deviates from the current Reavers force compostion by using what is known as an expanded force organization chart which is composed of 4 sections of assault gunships, 2 section of recon aircraft and 2 "Special Operations Sections". The "Special Operations Sections" are composed of two airborne transports and two infantry platoons each and are used in cases where subtelty is required. The 1st Armored Assault Group also uses the expanded force organization chart and is composed of 4 sections of armored vehicles and 2 sections of mechanized infantry, and 2 sections of airmoble infantry. These sections are often assigned to other detachments to be used in conjunction with there own infantry and armor assets to hold vital locations and to provide security for the forward HQ centers.

With the death of his father Alexander during the final stages of the Galaxy War, Jeremy now commands the unit in his fathers’ place. Jeremy has risen throughout the ranks quickly and has proven his prowess and competence in battle on numerous occasions. Jeremy has served with the Deathstrike most of his career and was actually in command of the unit for the 3 years prior to his promotion to command the entire Battalion. He was the youngest officer ever to command the Deathstrike, receiving his promotion at the age of 22.

Now at the age of 25, and wanting to prove himself every bit his fathers’ heir, Jeremy has put the Reavers back on the market after deciding not to renew there last assignment with Hughes-Marietta.

The time is now.
